When We Were Children
When we were
children God seems so close. We were so innocent that everything for us
is a glimpse of the Divine, without even thinking about it. But as we
age, we also outgrow the simplicity of being a child and adult life leaves no more room for innocence and childlike wonder.
Some often remark that God suddenly became distant and cold, or almost
absent. This feeling catches me too,so easily like cough and cold. But I
wonder;
Is God really absent, distant, cold and uncaring? Or
are we just too preoccupied by so many things that we lose touch of Him
and His presence? Too closed He cannot come in, leaving us so dry and
empty?
When we were children things weren't like that. But now,
it seems like what we always need is a breath taking miracle to be
convinced that God is among us, and we fail to notice Him in the
ordinariness of our lives.
When we were children, we weren't
like that, but it isn't too late to be a child again and feel Him again,
find Him again because maybe, just maybe, we are just not paying
attention.
