Being Loved...

Remember the moment you met your one true love. You probably thought you saw an angel. Everything seemed magical. Every opportunity of being with that person is a gift you always yearn for. Such a mystery love can make! Your colorless world had suddenly become a rainbow and life became a paradise again. When you pray, you always thanked God for giving you someone as special as the love of your life. You were so happy, so grateful... But...

Things became monotonous.You are longing for something more. You expect that the love of your life would realize this and do all that you wish. You begin to establish protocols- Do's and Dont's. Every little mistake would begin a quarrel. Love isn't fading away, but your many expectations push love at the back of your mind. You are always lonely and yearning for the moment the person you love would become the person you want him to be (or in your own words; love you the way you think you deserve).

All of these happen because you thought that when you love someone and that person loves you too, you already have a right over him.

It is your right to love, but being loved is a privilege. Every chances of being loved is a gift we should all be thankful for. If we forget this truth, we are running the risk of losing every person we love. If we would always expect someone to love us the way we wanted, we will never be happy. In fact, we will only be happy when we begin to see that every person has the right to love others in his own way.

The next time you feel like demanding from someone you love, remember how your love story began. Remember the feeling. Remember the gratitude. Remember the miracle.

And remember that it is only a privilege!
