The Demise of San Antonio Spurs

It was a thrilling game down to the last minute of the game. With a seesaw battle starting from the tip off, the game was decided at the last minute. But one of the most obvious is how the Miami Heat handled the pressure. They indeed have a great championship heart. With that back to back championships, we cannot question the team effort with the guidance of the great coach Eric Spoelstra.

In Mamburao basketball court, there is a term that could describe a good player: HALIMAW. And this could also describe the Miami team.
Halimaw talaga si James. He is unstoppable offensively. But he also provided the defense on playmaker Parker limiting him to 10pts. And with that he earned the MVP award.

Wade remains the captain of the team and he showed the leadership and the willingness to give everything to grab the championship trophy. Last 7minutes of the game, James made a steal. Wade on the other side of the court fell after colliding with a Spur’s player. James passed the ball ahead of Wade. Wade, still in the floor, crawl just to get the ball. (Nakakatawa talaga na makita si Wade na gumagapang sa court para lang makuha ang bola…at inulit-ulit pang ipakita sa replay…ha ha ha).

But Coach Spoelstra is also a Halimaw. With the past games’ alternating results, he made an adjustment. Last year, it was Miller who provided the outside threat from beyond the ark. This time it was Battier who made treys puzzling the Spurs coaching staff on how to defend the aggressive James and shots from downtown. Spoelstra made it happen. He also sees to it that Parker will not have enough gas in his tank down the last minutes of the game by assigning James to guard Parker and made Parker’s night difficult.

Miami Heat team is a monster. This is a team effort. They are on the brink of elimination only to fight back, eventually eliminating San Antonio Spurs. Could this be the end of Duncan’s era? I hope not. They can learn from Miami’s never say die attitude…
